Westborough, MASS (Sept. 27, 2002) – In an private showing today
at the Annie Fales Elementary school playground, Sean Anderson, 8
years old, unveiled his latest invention, TinyTag, to his
friends and teachers.
TinyTag is a key chain-sized game of laser tag that fires up
to 50 feet.
 TinyTag is available in both
standard and glow-in-the-dark models.
“I’m busted,” said Sean. “The thing went off in my pocket a bunch
of times during class and everyone was looking at me strange.”
Sean with the help of his dad, Mark Anderson, invented the device
while in kindergarten.
“We made the first one in a toaster oven,” said Sean. “My
neighbor Matthew wrote the software and his uncle Bob from NASA
helped with the electrical stuff.”
The device resembles a car door opener. It uses the same
technology as a channel turner. It takes two devices to play.
“It even works with TV turners,” said James Anderson, Sean’s
11-year-old brother. “You can score by pointing a clicker at it and
pushing any button.”
The devices will be on the shelves of The Whiz Stores on Route 9
in Westborough within the next month and available for Christmas.
When asked about the company name, Sean’s dad replied,
“You’ve heard of Hasbro, Wham-O, Lego and Tyco, it just happens that
Sean’s nickname is “Sean’o.”
